Slovenian state-owned energy company HSE bought a 51 % stake in electricity supplier Energija Plus from Elektro Maribor.
HSE is already present in the Maribor are with its subsidiary Dravske Elektrarne Maribor (DEM), which operates several hydropower plants. General Director of HSE Viktor Vracar said that the HSE’s entry into the retail company Energija Plus is of great regional importance, as it further emphasizes local connectivity and social responsibility of local companies and provides the opportunity for the utilization of wind and geothermal energy. All planned improvements, based on the strategy of transition to green energy supply, will benefit all participants on the market.
In addition to electricity and natural gas supply, Energija Plus also offers heat supply, turnkey solar power plants, public infrastructure for charging electric vehicles and micro-e-mobility such as e-bikes and scooters.
Elektro Maribor will retain its 49 % stake in the company.
