Slovenia, Net electricity generation in July 2022 decreased by 13 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in July 2022 decreased by 13 % compared to the same month last year.

In July 2022, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,022 GWh, which is 8 % less than in the previous month. In July, production in thermal power plants increased by 54 % compared to the same month in 2021, production in hydropower plants decreased by 52 %, while NPP Krsko production was 2 % lower. In July 2022, Slovenia imported 809 GWh (23 % more compared to July 2021) of electricity and exported 761 GWh (+ 13 %).

In July 2022, households consumed 241 GWh of electricity, while the consumption of commercial consumers amounted to 660 GWh.

Supply of energy commodities in general went down in July, except from the supply of kerosene which rose by 9 %. Compared to the previous month, a decrease in supply of heating oil (35 %) was recorded, as well as other petroleum products (31 %), hard coal (20 %), diesel (16 %), natural gas (5 %), coke (3 %) and lignite and brown coal (3 %).

Compared to July 2021, the supply of kerosene increased by 83 %, lignite and brown coal by 25 %, petrol by 15 %, diesel by 2 % and coke by 2 %.
