State Energy Regulatory Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DERK) has approved the long-term development plan for the transmission network for the period 2017-2024.
The document, prepared by the transmission company Elektroprijenos BiH, whose audit was performed by the Independent System Operator (NOSBiH), defines the required upgrade of existing and the construction of new transmission facilities in order to ensure the continuous supply and stable operation of the entire system. The value of total investment in transmission network planned for the 2017-2024 period is about 422 million euros.
Long-term plan envisages the construction of new substations and transmission lines in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) worth 105.3 million euros, and new interstate cross-border transmission lines worth 46 million euros. The plan also includes reconstruction and upgrade of existing substations (169.2 million euros), reconstruction of existing transmission lines (71.8 million euros), upgrade of SCADA system and telecommunication equipment (22.5 million euros).
DERK also approved the investment plan of Elektroprijenos BiH for 2017, which contains a detailed structure and dynamics of realization of planned investments in this year.
