Bulgaria, Electricity production in the period between 1 and 13 March 2022 has increased by 22.87 %
, SEE Energy NewsAccording to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 and 13 March 2022 has increased by 22.87 % compared to 2021 and reached 11.89 TWh.
In addition, Bulgaria’s electricity consumption rose in the same period, by 4.34 % reaching a total of 9.21 TWh. Surplus electricity amounted to 2.68 TWh GWh so far in 2022, 215 % more than in the same period in 2021. Baseload power plants (coal, nuclear) produced a total of 10.25 TWh of electricity in 2022, which is 33 % more than in 2021.
The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network rose by 14.82 % to 314.3 GWh, while RES share in the country’s distribution network increased by 16.13 % to 424.5 GWh.
