An extraordinary audit at the Croatian state- owned power utility HEP is currently ongoing. The audit was requested by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Davor Filipovic in late October.
The goal of the audit, which is performed by Confida, is to determinate how HEP operated between 1 January 2021 and 30 June 2022.
The Ministry of Economy explained that, since the country is amidst unprecedented energy crisis, it is essential to audit all contracts for the purchase and sale of energy resources – electricity, natural gas and coal.
The findings of the audit will be known soon, and, according to unofficial information, HEP also procured natural gas from the company involved in INA’s gas trading scandal.
