If Petrokemija starts privatization, Gazprom would not be among potential buyers because they don’t consider this possibility.
Representative of Gazprom Administration stated that they expect significant expansion in Croatia in the following period so there are several areas that Gazprom is interested in. Registration of Company Gazprom Neft Balkan in Zagreb at the end of last year refers to it. This company should become operational at the end of this or at the beginning of next month.
“We have big expectations for Croatian gas market development in the following years. Our estimations are confirmed to the study of project South Stream’s profitability in Croatia. We expect European trends for higher gas consumption like ecological energy with its lower production in European countries to be present in your country, too”, says Kuprijanov.
Gazprom got contract for partial gas delivery to Petrokemija in Kutina at the middle of the month, and it is more and more certain that this company could be co-investor to some energy projects, maybe even in Plomin C.
Although they didn’t want to talk about concrete projects from Russian energy giant, they confirmed big interest for the sector.
“We intensively estimate possibilities for bilateral cooperation with Croatian partners in the gas area. Potential cooperation with Croatia for energy facilities’ construction is among promising projects. Negotiations for this question are beginning, and several options for cooperation are being considered”, Kuprijanov stated.
