The weighted average spot price of gas on the Hungarian CEEGEX exchange on Sunday, March 19, was 46.15 euros per MWh, the same as on Saturday. However, the spot price increased slightly compared to Friday, when it was 45 euros per MWh.
The Hungarian day-ahead gas price recorded gains and losses in the previous seven days, and the highest level was achieved on March 14 – 52.36 euros per MWh. Nevertheless, during most of March, the weighted average spot price of gas did not exceed the threshold of 50 euros per MWh.
The trading volume on the day-ahead CEEGEX market in the previous week ranged from 50 to 57 GWh per day.
On the intraday market, the weighted average price on Sunday was 40.8 to 41.2 euros per MWh, for modest volumes of around 690 MWh per hour. The same prices were achieved on Saturday, while on Friday the intraday price reached 47.3 euros per MWh.
When it comes to contracts for a month in advance on the reference European stock exchange TTF, the price for April 2023 was 43.12 euros per MWh on Friday. Contracts for the first quarter of 2023 were concluded at a price of EUR 43.62 per MWh.
