Hungary: Electricity trade on HUPX in May

In May 2021, the average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Hungarian energy exchange HUPX amounted to 59.94 euros/MWh, which is 5 % lower compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 62.94 euros/MWh. Average HUPX DAM peak price amounted to 59.35 euros/MWh in May, 7 % kower compared to April peak price. Traded volume in May reached 2.12 million MWh, which is 7 % less than in April (2.28 million MWh) and 1.9 % more than in May 2020 (2.08 million MWh). Average daily traded volume in May amounted to 68,417 MWh. Traded volume on the intraday market amounted to 170,926 MWh in May 2021, which is 24 % more compared to the previous month. Average daily traded volume on the intraday market amounted to 5,514 MWh.
