Romanian artificial fertilizer producer Azomures decided to suspend its production during the winter season, particularly in January and February, due to the rising gas and energy prices.
General Manager of Azomures Harri Kiiski said that the high price demanded by the methane gas suppliers no longer allows us to remain sustainable, adding that the resumption of operation depends on the price of methane gas and its availability in the market. The company said that the employees will not be affected, as it will carry out maintenance operations during the downtime.
In early October, the company announced that it has cut the production by half due to rising energy prices.
