Romania: Cernavoda NPP unit 2 reconnected to the grid after intervention work from General Electric

Unit 2 of Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant (NPP Cernavoda) was synchronized last Tuesday at National Power System, and reached the rated power.

Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 was disconnected from national grid on September 8, 2014, at 17:30, due to a malfunction occurred in the generator, later corrected by plant experts, with support from the system manufacturer (General Electric).

Remedial works were carried out according to approved procedures used by Cernavoda NPP, safe for personnel and the environment, says representatives Nuclearelectrica.
