Romania, Country has 18,545 MW of installed capacity
, SEE Energy NewsAccording to the data of the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE), on 11 March, Romania officially had a total electricity generation capacity of 18,545 MW, most of which are hydro and coal-fired power plants.
Romania’s installed capacity in hydropower plants amounted to 6,644 MW, accounting for 35.8 % of the total. Coal-fired power plants are second with 3,092 MW (16.7 %), followed by wind farms with 3,014 MW (16.3 %).
Hydrocarbon power plants (natural gas, fuel oil) have a total capacity of 2,835 MW (15.4 %), nuclear power plants – 1,413 MW (7.6 %), solar power plants – 1,393 (7.5 %) and biomass power plants – 106.8 MW (0.6 %).
