The production in the biggest coal Mining Basin “Kolubara” has been completely normalized within July and it is expected that plan of 29 million tons of coal for this year to be successfully achieved – says Milorad Grcic, Director of Mining Basin “Kolubara”, adding that at this moment about 100,000 tons of lignite are being sent daily from four open pit mines that work at full capacity to the thermal power plants Nikola Tesla.
Otherwise, during weekend on the mine “Tamnava -West Field”, the largest coal mine, which suffered catastrophic damage during the floods in May last year, has been launched third system for detecting overburden, by which it was again reached capacity before the flood. This system was officially put into operation after it discovered coal for “rodent 5” for three days alone, without delay. Monthly production of tailings at this mine should now be increased by about 350,000 cubic meters.
At this point on the “West field”, in addition to the three systems which put overburden aside also coal is mined in three lines.
